INTRODUCTION

Founded by Tanner Barley, CPT/CN, in Hilton Head Island and now serving Greenville, SC, Squatch Strength’s mission is to unlock and empower your best you through personalized fitness training and nutrition guidance.  Tanner is a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist, eager to equip you with the tools to lead a balanced, healthy lifestyle using a customized approach.

Counter to the generalized crash diets and often misguided influencer culture, Squatch Strength’s approach to wellness is to help educate, direct, and assist you in cultivating an intuitive understanding of wellness for your unique body and individual needs.

heeeeeere’s tanner

Tanner, CPT/CN, is the founder of Squatch Strength, a goofy comic book afficionado, and collector of skin graffiti.

Born in Florida (but not one of the infamous Florida-Men!) and raised in The Lowcountry of South Carolina, Tanner certainly didn’t start off as someone you would expect to become a name in the health industry.

A veritable bubble boy, Tanner was confined to living inside due to severe asthma and a slew of extensive allergies.  Because he was forced to stay mostly inside, he lived vicariously through comic books and their superheroes!

Enamored with the prospect of growing up to become as close to his printed heroes as he could, the sick little boy was lucky enough to outgrow his health obstacles and delve into the world of fitness beginning in his teenage years.

Originally in school for physical therapy, Tanner shifted his focus to the wonderous world of food by going back to college for Culinary Arts in Charleston. This was the catalyst that would forever change his relationship with food for the better.

While physical fitness remained at the forefront of his health quest, learning how to select and prepare food as fuel was the true turning point in his understanding of total wellness.  With the two powers combined, Tanner learned how to live life abundantly while also maximizing his wellness goals.

Squatch Strength initially started as a passion project and evolved into a life mission to help others succeed.  We have combined a lifetime of experience, education, and practice to help you on your own journey of feeling worthy, balanced and whole.  Book your consultation today, and let us show you how.

The Squatch (formerly known as Chef), Tanner, CPT/CN, brings a customized cooking class to your kitchen. Available to our Greenville clientele, we create tasty meal preps based on your favorite dishes. Based upon input generated on your Discovery Call, we curate a shopping list for you. We bring the tools, knowledge, and creativity to your home to whip up a batch of macro-friendly meals together.
